The Minardi Factory Tour

Before heading into the main car bay, we nipped out back to grab a photo of the team's IVECO transporter.

We toured the factory on a Friday afternoon in early November so very few of the race mechanics were in and the cars were stripped down. Soon they would be refitted and reassembled for Minardi's end of November test at Misano which spanned a week.

On the work surface next to Baumgartner's car we find an aerodynamic fitting to replace the FOM camera pod, and Zsolt's friend Bau, who has a place of honor at each Grand Prix in the team garage.

This is the steering wheel for Gimmi Bruni's car. Bruni prefers a layer of electrical tape on the upper corners of his wheel and for the button to operate the driver drink system is mounted onto his shoulder belt. In Zsolt's car the drink button is mounted on the cockpit side.
