Sunday January 16th, 2000 While the press spotlight was on young hopeful Jenson Button, David Coulthard went ahead doing his job, setting the fastest time of the third and final day of testing at Jerez. The Scot ran almost 100 laps in a 1999 McLaren with a 2000 Mercedes engine. His fastest time was 1:24.35 - also the fastest lap of the the entire three days at Jerez. BAR's Ricardo Zonta came second, only a fraction of a second behind Coulthard and after about the same number of laps as him. Testing has now ended at Jerez and will recommence next week at Barcelona.
