First Equipment Lands in Melbourne

The first of six jumbo jets carrying equipment for the 2000 Qantas Australian Grand Prix have landed in Melbourne tonight.

The first plane contain equipment for the digital television broadcast of the March 9-12 event to Europe. The second and third planes, due tomorrow, will also be carrying television equipment.

Three more jumbos carrying the 22 cars for the first Grand Prix of the century at Albert Park will start arriving at the weekend, as will the first drivers.
