The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is about to close a deal to host an US Formula One race in 2000 reports say. The Indianapolis Star reported that the race officials already have announced an oral agreement.

The Speedway spokesman Fred Nation stated however: "We can't say this is going to happen. There are no press releases, not even the start to that. I'm telling you we do not have anything that firm."
