Barry Green has firmly denied rumors that Craig Pollock, owner of the new BAR/Reynard F1 team, has bought the Team Kool Green Champ car operation based in Indianapolis. "I have not sold any of my team to Craig Pollock," Green bristled. "If I did I would only sell him 100% of the team, but I have not done that, and I have no interest in selling the team. I'm just focused on trying to win a race this year with either or both of our drivers."
Green's primary sponsor, the Kool cigarette brand, is owned by British American Tobacco who also are the major sponsor of Pollock's new BAR F1 team. This connection has fuelled the rumours of Pollock acquiring Green's team. "I consider BAT a partner in Team Green, not just a sponsor," Green commented. "Everything we do is done in partnership with BAT, but there is no connection between this team and Craig's F1 team."
