It was already known that Ferrari would protest against McLaren next weekend. They now announced when they will do this. A Ferrari spokesman said: "We will make the protest on Thursday. We have been asking for clarification about the system (the braking system) since January, which led to us writing a letter questioning its legality in Melbourne. We had a response but Ferrari were not happy with this. Max Mosley the FIA president said that if we were not happy about things we should protest. On Thursday we will do that and, if that fails, we will then appeal."

Ferrari believes the braking system is used as a sort of four wheel steering mechanism.

McLaren boss Ron Dennis has already denied this and stated: "If any teams want to challenge the validity of my statements I can assure them they will be extremely embarrassed."
