McLaren's driver, David Coulthard, was leading yesterday's Jerez testing, closely followed by Ferrari's Eddie Irvine.

Ralf Schumacher set the third quickest time and Williams teammate Alex Zanardi was off the pace, in 8th position.

Other teams present were Jordan, Sauber and Prost. Heinz-Harald Frentzen in a Jordan set the fourth quickest time.
