Today was Ferrari's first day of testing at Jerez de la Frontera, in the Southern Spain, with both Eddie Irvine and Luca Badoer testing. The Irish driver concentrated on tyre testing and the set-up of his F300. He also did some work on the suspension. Badoer continued with the work he began last week at Barcelona, testing components destined for the 1999 car. Irvine completed a total of 82 laps, with a best time of 1:25.833s, while Badoer did 36 laps, the quickest in 1:28.305s.
Testing continues tomorrow, again with Irvine and Badoer.
