Frank Williams, Adrian Newey and Patrick Head are due to appear in front of the Italian court next Friday because of the Senna trial.

These three and some others are held responsible for the death of Ayrton Senna. Everyone has always strongly denied being responsible. Up until now it was a matter of getting witnesses for the prosecution who said one thing and for the defence to get witnesses to deny this. So Friday could be a breakthrough in the trial.

Fittipaldi retires

After his ultra-light crash and his spinal cord injuries following this, Fittipaldi has stated the racing and extreme sports are over for him.

He said: "It was not a message, it was an order. "I have to stop extreme sports. It's over. Physically, yes, I could do it. But mentally, I wouldn't be ready."

He added: "I have to think about everything that happened and play golf. I want to get involved on the other side of the wall ... on the safe side of the wall."

He stated on his decision: "I'm either the luckiest or the unluckiest man. I'd say the luckiest."
