With fourteen qualifying sessions completed for 2003, the differentials are once again on a roll! Let's see which drivers deserve bragging rights.
Monaco Notables
- Setting the Record Straight: The Monaco Grand Prix saw Cristiano da Matta set his best grid position thus far, qualifying 10th. Incidentally, the Brazilian also outqualified his experienced teammate Olivier Panis for the first time on a Saturday qualifying session (although fuel loads were likely part of the reason for this). A mention also goes to Ralf Schumacher who achieved his second career pole position - the last one was in the 2001 French Grand Prix.
- Exclusions We removed the BAR pair of Jacques Villeneuve and Jenson Button, due to the latter's crash in practice, which saw him withdrawn from the rest of the Grand Prix weekend.
- Going Down? Up? The elevator's range seems to be settling down, and it seems that - should things continue like this until the end of the season - the average elevation might end up being very small.
The Elevator
We've decided to also keep track of the position changes between Friday and Saturday. We're not yet sure if it means anything, but we'll keep an eye on the results for the time being...
