World Champions Ferrari kicked off their preparations for the United States Grand Prix with a test at the Mugello circuit today.

Both test drivers Luciano Burti and Luca Badoer were in action at the Italian circuit, concentrating on tyre testing and electronics work. Italian Badoer drove this year's F2002 chassis, while the Brazilian tester worked with both an F2002 and last year's F2001.

Badoer was the quickest of the two with a best time of 1:23.257 after 79 laps, while Burti's best was 1:24.775 after 70 laps, 29 of them with the F2001.
