McLaren boss Ron Dennis has warned that radical proposals for technical changes will not be passed through when they are discussed between team bosses at a meeting in December.

The decision on plans to create long-lasting engines and gearboxes and standardised electronics were delayed following Monday's meeting of the Formula One Commission because technical changes need a unanimous agreement to be passed through.

Dennis believes that the teams will adopt a similarly conservative approach to those changes as they did with the sporting decisions, which saw radical ideas of ballasting and driver swaps thrown out the window.

"The changes being proposed for 2004, which is what the December meeting is about, are unlikely to be as severe as most would hope," Dennis told Sky Sports News. "It is important to maintain technical innovation in Formula One and not handicap those that are achieving."

Two-way telemetry will be one area that could be dropped, but proposals for long-lasting parts are less likely to be accepted.
