The Jordan Grand Prix team will not be joining the majority of their competitors when they start testing at the end of November.
Jordan, who used Honda engines this season, will switch to Ford units in 2003 and the Silverstone-based squad have decided to concentrate all their efforts in the design of their new car instead of testing with an interim chassis that would allow them to fit the Ford engine.
However the team, who finished the season sixth overall, said they would not suffer from having three weeks less testing than others. "We've already got the engine so we know what it's like," said a spokeswoman.
Winter testing will be kicked off on November 26 at the Barcelona and Valencia circuits in Spain.
