Japanese driver Takuma Sato will have his best qualifying time taken away after exiting the pitlane under a red light in Friday's first practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The race stewards gave Sato the penalty after listening to reports from track marshals about the Jordan driver breaking Article 113 of the sporting regulations. Sato's position on Sunday's grid will therefore depend on his second best time in tomorrow's qualifying.
Sato, making his Formula One debut this season, already had a problematic Malaysian Grand Prix two weeks ago when he crashed into the back of teammate Giancarlo Fisichella.
