Jaguar Racing are set to make an immediate decision on plans to revert to last year's R2 machine at the end of Friday's final day of the three-day Barcelona test.

Drivers Eddie Irvine and Pedro de la Rosa have conducted back-to-back tests with the old machine alongside their 2002 R3 car, and will have a crucial evening meeting to decide on plans for the San Marino Grand Prix.

A team spokesman said on Friday: "There are many permutations and we will discuss them in the briefing after the test, and we will make a decision late tonight."

Team principal Niki Lauda has said after the Malaysian Grand Prix that the old car will not be ready in time to be raced in Brazil but may be drafted in for the first European race at Imola in three weeks time.
