Ken Tyrrell is sill competing in Formula One for the fun of it: "Of course, it is my business. But that is not all there is to it. I actually enjoy the travel, the places we go to and the races. You don't think I'd have gone on so long if I didn't, do you?"
"I like to enjoy the racing and I think that is the way it should be. But that does not mean I don't want to be successful. It just happens that it is very difficult to win races, far more difficult than it has ever been before," Tyrrell added.
Tyrrell commented on the driver change: "I like seeing new guys come in and do well but that is not the reason this has happened. That would be too romantic. No, the truth is that I have usually needed to switch to a different driver for other reasons: normally business reasons. That is one of the ways we have managed to keep on going all these years."
David Coulthard said at his birthday party that it is unlikely for him to win again during Sunday's race at Interlagos (Brazil).
He said: "My target is to try to finish in the points again. And that is realistic. You only have to see how well the Williams qualified in Melbourne to realise that they are a class ahead of the rest of us -- so long as they stay on the road. And you can't expect them to drop out every race like that so it is obviously going to be much more difficult."
Coulthard is aiming to maintain his championship lead if he can: "That would be nice. To be in the points in every race is my realistic target this year."
The Grand Prix of Monaco will see the introduction of the 'Airbag' in Formula One. The air cushions must help to increase the safety at the street circuit. The 'Airbags' are similar to the ones used in motor cycling racing and will cost about $US 1000 per meter.
