Schumacher Stands In for Badoer at Mugello

World Champion Michael Schumacher got back to action only one day after suffering a heavy accident in Spain, as the German tested at the Mugello circuit standing in for test driver Luca Badoer, who had the flu.

Both Schumacher and teammate Rubens Barrichello destroyed their Ferrari cars on Wednesday after losing control and crashing against the tyre barriers at high speed, forcing the Italian team to cancel the test at the Spanish circuit.

However, the World Champion returned to the wheel today, as Ferrari continued with the development of new experimental components. In this final day of testing for Ferrari at Mugello, Schumacher completed a total of 68 laps with a best time of 1:22.660.
