President, Toyota Motorsport - Ove Andersson
Under Ove's direction, the then Toyota Team Europe (TTE) was the dominant force in the World Rally Championship in the 1990s. Now as a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), the re-named Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) will build and develop Toyota's Formula 1 programme under the presidency of Ove Andersson.
Ove's personal history in motor sport is illustrious. He was part of the Viking invasion of Swedish racing and rally drivers in the sixties. Whilst the likes of Ronnie Peterson went racing, Andersson took up rallying. Successes include the Safari Rally and the Monte Carlo Rally. Entering F1 will give him a chance to reunite with former co-driver Jean Todt.
General Manager F1 Operations - Richard Cregan
Richard joined TTE in 1984 as a rally mechanic and filled many positions while playing a major role in the development of the F1 team. He realized the potential and necessity with Ove Andersson to set up the in-house manufacturing base that now forms the core with engineering for the Formula 1 project.
While attending various diploma programmes over the years to prepare himself for the position of General Manager, Richard has developed personally from experience gained in the WRC to Operations Manager for the Le Mans project.
His current position of General Manager assisting Ove Andersson in the day-to-day running of the company has led to his new challenge in TMG as General Manager F1 operation supporting Ove Andersson and Gustav Brunner.
Technical Manager, F1 Chassis - Dagobert Roehrer
A Bavarian, Dago joined TMG in 1990 and was in charge of the Safari rally project. In 1996 he became Technical Project Leader for the Corolla rally programme before taking up the position of F1 Operations Manager in 2000. Dago has previous automotive experience with Audi from 1979 to 1990, and now takes up a new challenge as Manager for the technical side of the Toyota Formula 1 chassis.
Chief Designer - Gustav Brunner
Austrian Gustav Brunner started his Formula 1 career with ATS in 1978. During the 1980s he worked with Arrows, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Ram Hart. He joined Leyton House in 1990, moving to March before rejoining Ferrari at the end of 1993. He joined Toyota Motorsport in May 2001 from Minardi where he had been Technical Director since 1998.
