Practice Times Altered by Italian Officials

Thursday September 13th, 2001

Italian Grand Prix officials have brought forward the time of Friday's opening practice session in order to comply with the planned silence throughout Europe.

Race stewards for the Monza event decided Thursday to run the opening practice sessions 10 minutes early to avoid disrupting the continent-wide silence. The usual 11.00 am start of the session has been brought forward to 10.50 am (09.50 UK time) and all team personnel will hold the silence 10 minutes after the end of the practice.

All teams have agreed that they will not run any engines during that time, although it is expected that only one minute rather than the planned three minutes silence will be held.
