In an initiative created and implemented by MasterCard, Jordan Grand Prix's sponsor, 40 Brazilian motor racing historians and journalists selected Ayrton Senna's dramatic victory in 1991 at Interlagos as the "MasterCard 'Priceless' Moment in the History of Brazilian Motor Racing." Senna's victory stands out and was all the more spectacular as he finished the race with only 6th gear available.

Senna's victory in Sao Paulo, making him the fourth Brazilian to win their native race, was selected as MasterCard's "Priceless" moment from among a total of 15 Brazilian auto racing moments as nominated by a panel of Brazilian motor racing historians and media. With 40 ballots returned, the 1991 moment garnered a total of 109 points - nearly 40 points more than the point total of the second-place moment.

The selection process awarded five points for first place votes, three points for second and one point for third place votes. In addition, the overall "Priceless" moment appeared on the most ballots, a total of 29, and received the most 1st and 2nd place votes with 13 and 14, respectively.

Rounding out the top three MasterCard "Priceless" Moments in the history of Brazilian motor racing are: the second victory by Senna in 1993, which featured a skillful piece of driving to outmanouver Damon Hill by the Laranjinha curve to take the checkered flag -- received a total of 66 points, appearing on 18 ballots and receiving a total of nine 1st place votes; the first 1-2 finish by Brazilian drivers, José Carlos Pace - in his only Fornula One victory -- with Emerson Fittipaldi finishing second in 1975 came in third. The Pace/Fittipaldi moment received a total of 59 points and appeared on 20 ballots.
