Saturday February 26th, 2000

Ferrari continued testing today on both its tracks, at Mugello and Fiorano.

At Fiorano, Michael Schumacher devoted the entire morning to practising starts with the F399. He ran 30 laps, with a best time of 1:01.188.

At Mugello, testing began at 08:30. At the wheel of the second F1-2000 chassis, Rubens Barrichello did a long run test divided into three sections. After the test, Rubens said: "I am very happy to have completed a second long run. Everything went well and the set-up of the car is just about right now. The new car is quick and I am feeling confident."

Barrichello stopped running at 15:30. Then, at 17:00 it was Michael Schumacher's turn as he did six laps to check on what had been done. His fastest time was 1:25.554. Testing finally ended at 17h30.
