Jaguar Clutch Problem Persists

Wednesday April 19th, 2000

Eddie Irvine said that his Jaguar team had got no closer to fixing a clutch problem despite eight hours of practising race starts on Tuesday.

The Briton, said the problem had been behind a poor start that he felt had cost him a point at the last race.

He said he had spent all of Tuesday at the Santa Pod raceway, practising starts.

"We didn't make any progress.

"We got a lot of information and maybe it will help us understand why we have a problem with the clutch but we didn't find any answers certainly yesterday," said Irvine.

"We practised from 10 o'clock to six o'clock so it was a long day but we never found any solutions."
