Thursday April 13th, 2000 Michael Schumacher set the fastest time, on the third day of the Silverstone testing, where all teams are present ahead of the British Grand Prix next week. Schumacher set a time under the 1999 testing lap record, but almost a second slower than the 2000 fastest testing time, set by Olivier Panis over a month ago. At the end of the day, Schumacher said: "My return to Silverstone for the first time since my accident had less of an effect on me than the accident Zonta had today. As for the rest, I would say that the car performed really well. We were able to run in both the wet and the dry. I think we can be competitive here at Silverstone as well. However, it was difficult to get a good day's testing in because of the constant red flags interrupting the session." Weather conditions at Silverstone today were rain in the morning, and dry buy cold weather in the afternoon. Testing will continue tomorrow at Silverstone. Today's times:
The 2000 fastest testing time is 1:24.84 (O. Panis) |
