Following Bernie Ecclestone recent statements against Ferrari's disqualification and his claim that he has lobbied for years to loosen the regulations, The FIA released a statement saying, "The FIA is surprised about this because Mr. Ecclestone voted at least twice in favour of these regulations." The FIA spokesman also added, with regards to Ecclestone's words that the disqualification was "nonsense," that "Mr. Ecclestone cannot recall having made such a statement."
