Michael Schumacher could be back testing a Ferrari at the weekend, if he receives his doctors' permission - revealed his manager Willi Weber.

Speaking to the news agency SID, Weber said: "If there are no objections or misgivings on the medical front, Michael will test on Saturday." Asked if Schumacher therefore could be back to racing as soon as next week's Hungary, Weber simply said: "First Michael will have to get through the test drives fairly trouble-free. But if that's the case, of course we'll think about Hungary."

Schumacher himself, however, played down the chances of such an early return. "I will undergo a medical examination on Friday and if the doctors say yes, then I will test on Saturday," said Schumacher. "But I don't think it is likely that I will be testing. I would say my chances are only about 5%."
