Michael Schumacher made a special television appearance today, shortly before the beginning of the German Grand Prix. Speaking from him house in Switzerland via satellite, the injured German replied spoke to the 100,000 fans that came to Hockenheim, many of them wearing his shirts and waving the Ferrari flags. "I want to thank you for your tremendous support," Schumacher was said telling them, on the giant screens around the track. "It only increases my motivation to be back in a racing car as soon as possible."

However, Schumacher remained cautious as to when he will be able to return to racing. "It's a difficult question," he said, "at the moment I am not able to predict when things will be right. You always hope for a miracle and I can only wish that things will go faster than planned, but I'm only human."
