Jordan Grand Prix today announced that it has extended its engine supply agreement with Mugen-Honda for a further two years.
Honda will design and develop the engines which will be supplied through Mugen Co Ltd to Jordan on an equal specification basis.
Confirming the announcements made by Honda in Tokyo Eddie Jordan, Cheif Executive of Jordan Grand Prix commented: "This is great news for Jordan Grand Prix. The Combined support of Honda and Mugen with an equal status engine supply until the end of 2001 gives the team the stability it requires to mount an even stronger World Championship challenge. As our current 3rd position in the 1999 World Championship demonstrates, we have developed an excellent relationship with Mugen-Honda."
Last year saw Jordan win its first race with an historic 1-2 in the Belgian Grand Prix; Jordan Mugen-Honda's Fourth place in the 1998 Constructors Championship was the best placing for both companies since their respective F1 debuts in 1991 and 1992.
