Bridgestone have announced that they will have to charge some of the teams for the tyres because costs have doubled. Bridgestone Motorsport director Hiroshi Yasukawa said: "We estimate that providing the additional manufacturing resources required, together with increased transport costs, will double the cost of competing."
He also stated that it was never their intention to be the only tyre supplier in Formula One. He added: "The price they pay will, of course, represent only a fraction of the cost of making, delivering and servicing the tyres."
Not all the teams have reached an agreement with Bridgestone yet but according Yasukawa is the 'holiday' before Christmas to blame.
