A possible comeback for Renault seems more and more likely. The French engine maker made it clear it is seriously considering a comeback in the Formula One Arena. Although the date has not been confirmed there is strong speculation that Renault may return as soon as 2001. This comes as Renault President Louis Schweitzer hinted a possible comeback could not be ruled out.

At present Williams and Benetton are using old Renault engines tuned by Mecachrome. If Renault returns there is a strong chance they could join the new BAR Team which is debuting in '99.
