Alain Prost is to confirm soon that John Barnard, previously with Arrows, will build parts for the Prost GP cars from his Shalford (UK) base. The two men worked closely together when Prost was a McLaren driver and Barnard was the team’s technical director.

Officially, Jordan’s technical boss Gary Anderson is "off sick," but it is expected that he has left the team and his name has also been linked to the Prost team. Another possibility is that he would move to Arrows in place of Barnard.

New Home for McLaren

Work has begun on McLaren’s new purpose-built facility at Mizzens farm, the site not far from their exsisting Woking base. The first phase is due to be completed during the year 2000 and a new wind tunnel is the main priority.

Honda Delay

Japanese motor giant Honda has put its F1 comeback on hold until 2000. The principle players held a meeting at the company’s Swindon, England car plant, after which they notified Bernie Ecclestone of their decision. The team has been guaranteed a place in F1 in two years time and will therefore make its debut at the same time as BMW start supplying Williams with engines.
