While all drivers improved their time from yesterday, Coulthard was still fastest, almost 1.5 seconds ahead of Ferrari's Michael Schumacher. Today also saw the first day of Jordan's driver, Ralf Schumacher, who clocked the third fastest time, ahead of Ferrari's Eddie Irvine.

Testing at Monza will continue tomorrow, as Damon Hill is also expected to join the session.
