- Ricardo Rosset drove well this weekend but it is still said this was his last Grand Prix. The rumour is, that he will be replaced by Tom Kristensen.
- Jacques Villeneuve criticises the moves Michael Schumacher made this weekend. He stated in his Daily Telegraph column: "What planet is the guy on? On 'Planet Michael' it would seem, as he believes himself to be all alone on the track. In Monaco he ran into Pedro Paolo Diniz for no other reason than he was three laps behind him, and in Montreal he compounded his errors. Before leaving the pits for the grid he (Schumacher) passed me on the left on the inside of the yellow line where everyone was working. Why, I have no idea. Then, leaving the pits during the race, he forced Heinz-Harald Frentzen off the track before cutting across a chicane after overtaking Damon Hill. Michael thinks he is invulnerable and has become a law unto himself. It's a shame that such a talented driver has to make so many blunders in order to get placed. How is he to be stopped? That's what many are asking."
- Jan Magnussen can stay on at Stewart for the time being. However, he does have to match Rubens Barrichello when Magnussen also uses the long wheelbase car. The team believes that they are on the way forward and looking strong for the rest of the season.
