Eddie Irvine is determined to go for the win this weekend. Irvine's driving stile has been much criticised, especially the starts, but he says he was not to blame for last year's accident and is looking for the same start.

He stated: "I hope I make the same start. This time I want to get through the first corner. This will be my best chance of winning here."

FIA considering Tobacco ad ban

The FIA is considering to U-turn their position with regards to tobacco advertisement. They may ban tobacco advertisement from Formula One if it can be proved that people start smoking because of advertisement.

Max Mosley stated: "We have always said we would do this as soon as we were shown direct proof of any kind of link which showed that tobacco advertising, or sponsorship, led to people starting smoking," He added: "It is though by several governments that they can make such evidence available. We could bring in a world-wide ban on tobacco advertisement on expiry of the Concorde Agreement in 2002." Mosley believes that the role of tobacco companies will be taken over by other companies, but that the financial support will be reduced.

A ban on tobacco advertisement will come into play in 2006 in the European Union, but Mosley stated: Such a ban would apply to all Formula One Grands Prix, inducing those held outside the European Union."
