The Portuguese government have come to an agreement with the FIA to keep Estoril on the Formula One calendar until at least 2002.

This year's Portuguese Grand Prix is still unsure. The repairs to the circuit need to be finished before August 21.


Berger's father killed in plane crash

The father of Gerhard Berger has died today when his privat plane crashed into a mountain in the Tirol (Austria) region at 700 metres. He was travelling alone.


Fontana keeps seat

The Sauber team has announced that Norberto Fontana, who made his Grand prix debut during the last race, will race for the team again this weekend.

There had been some rumours that Martin Brundle might replace him because of his bad result. Fontana replaces Morbidelli who broke his arm in a testing crash.
