Williams not present at beginning Senna trial; Prost ready to buy Ligier; Tests

Frank Williams, Adrian Newey and Patrick Head are not expected at the start of the Senna trial next week. Williams has always said that he would be there but the Williams now stated: "Obviously, the Williams team personnel will be appearing at the trial. However, we have been in discussions with our legal team and they advised us it is not necessary for Williams' personnel to be present on Thursday, February 20."

The most likely day that the trial will continue after February 20 is February 28. The trial is expected to last for six months.


Prost ready to buy Ligier

Alain Prost is ready to buy Ligier after he has signed a deal with Peugeot to use their engines from 1998.

Eddie Jordan has given his permission to Prost buying Ligier only after being pressured by Max Mosley, this was reported by the French sports newspaper 'L'Equipe'.

Now all teams have agreed that the name of the Ligier team can become Prost-Mugen-Honda for the 1997 season. The team will be presented this Friday.
