Jerez (Spain): Things didn't go so well for Heinz-Harald Frentzen yesterday. He suffered technical difficulties while again trying to make aerodynamic improvements to the Sauber-Ford. Frentzen came in behind the Williams-Renaults of Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve and both the Benettons.

Silverstone (England): Dutch driver Jos Verstappen tested the new T-car for the Arrows-Hart team. He came to a second best time of 1:30.75, just behind Rubens Barrichello. The team now has more finance because of the take-over by Tom Walkinshaw a few weeks ago. Verstappen was very happy about the arrival of the T-car. He said, even though he was seventh on the grid at the last Grand Prix: "Now we really can go all the way in qualifying."

  • The Imola circuit has again been changed: it now has a length of 5.040 km, this was 4.892 km.
