  • Mark Blundell's debut in the Indy Car series is not going too well. His brakes failed at the end of a straight. He slammed into the concrete wall with a speed of 200 mph, the car disintegrated. Blundell broke his foot. Blundell said: "I pushed the brake pedal to the floor and got nothing. I looked to turn into the infield hoping that would send me into a spin because I knew I was carrying too much speed and it would be a hard hit." The reason why his brakes didn't work is still unknown.
