- Hill has put things right again, after being beaten by his team-mate he was now over a second faster. The Briton drove a best time of 1:19.45 while his team-mate, Villeneuve, only came to a best time of 1:20.75. Schumacher has put 1:21.33 on the clock in his new Ferrari. Barrichello was now fourth with 1:21.81. Schumi said that the times didn't matter it was about the endurance of the engine. He drove a complete Grand Prix distance without the new Ferrari braking down. Verstappen was on the eighths spot with 1:22.50 just slightly slower than Gerhard Berger but Berger needed 31 laps to do it, Verstappen just 13. Verstappen said: "Tomorrow I will go even faster. I am happy with this car." - The Grand prix of Europe 1996 will be held in Germany. Like this year on the Nurburgring, this was announced by the FIA.
