- The death of Ayrton Senna at Imola on the 1st of May 1994 was caused by a steering failure, according to a report in the News of the World. The crash investigator Professor Enrico Lorenzini has said about the steering column on the Williams that it was: "badly welded together". Lorenzini, head of an eight-strong inquiry teem also said: "The steering was not working properly." He is said to have submitted a 600-page report to magistrates, who will now decide whether to prosecute.
