1998 SuperStats

Monaco Edition. Compilation by Rory Gordon, Australia

This edition of the SuperStats, for the Grand Prix of Monaco, focuses entirely on the grids so far this season, and so is solely a SuperGrid.

Most of the figures should be self-explanatory. However, to clarify, the times given under "Split" are the gaps between each two consecutive drivers in the table. The times given under "Gap To Pole" are the gaps to Hakkinen's average time of 1m23.312s. The "Percent To Pole" figures are also based on Hakkinen's time and not on the notional (or actual) pole times - which are given for completeness.

Of note may be that even though he has now twice been over the 107% mark in individual GP, Rosset's overall times are well within 107% of Hakkinen's overall times. Even if the actual pole times were to be used - an average of 1m23.164s - Rosset would still be within the 107% time of 1m28.986s. This would seem to indicate a sudden and rapid fall-off in the performance of Rosset, the Tyrrell car, or both.
