With the news that Frentzen is to replace Hill in the Williams team for 1997, it is interesting to note that their respective average grid positions - and Frentzen's against his current team-mate, Herbert.
As a side-note, the average of all the pole times so far this season is 1:26.243 - 107% of that is 1:32.280.

Despite finishing in 8th position in Italy, Villeneuve retains the lead in the SuperRace by any of the measures given here. Despite his low position, Hill stays near the top, whereas Schumacher has been hampered by his early season failures.
