Welcome to the F1 SuperGrid and SuperRace for 1996.
To those of you who have not seen the SuperGrid and SuperRace before, the idea is to average out each driver's efforts during the season, using the times and positions that he has attained.
All suggestions, corrections and so on, are gratefully received, but are not necessarily acted upon, subject to the compiler's whims.
The SuperGrid and SuperRace are based on the tables formerly presented by John Taylor in Autocourse.
The Williams drivers continue their domination of the 1996 Super Grid, along with the Ferraris and Benettons. Forti maintain their stranglehold on the other end of the grid.
With 4 races gone fron the 1996 season, the drivers have generally settled into their "allotted" positions on the grid. The only real exception to this is Coulthard, has been improving steadily.
This Super Grid is sorted on Total Time.

SuperRace
In a slight variation, rather than including the number of laps completed so far this season in this SuperRace, the final column here ("% LAPS") shows what percentage of the total number of laps so far this season each particular driver has completed.
Despite his fourth place at the European GP, Hill manages to maintain his record of completing every lap in every race so far this season.
At the time this table was compiled, the two Tyrrell drivers had been disqualified. For the purposes of the Super Race, they are deemed to have participated, and registered some laps (66 for Salo & 65 for Katayama). However, they have been "classified" as finishing in 19th (Salo) and 20th (Katayama) positions.
This Super Race is sorted on Avg. Pos., and then on Laps.
