I've always had a passing interest in motorsports, but when MicroProse Software brought out Formula One Grand Prix (known as World Circuit in the US) I was mightily impressed and rapidly became totally hooked on it. That lead to me starting to follow real Formula 1, and by about 1993 I had overtaken my youngest brother, Simon (who's the real sports fan of the family), in knowledge of not just F1, but also IndyCars, touring cars, rallying...
I've always enjoyed writing, so naturally when someone asked for articles on Formula 1 I lept at the chance.
In real life I work as a software developer for the General DataComm Advanced Research Centre (plug, plug). When I'm not doing that I'm either playing F1GP, or administering the F1GP/WC PC Hall Of Fame and FAQ list. I'm currently only a single point off taking the lead in the Pro division of Little Formula 3000, an on-line championship based around F1GP, and have led the FastLap competition right from race 1. I also pounce on the new licensed Star Wars books as they are released, and listen to so many different types of music I've given up trying to decide what I like, and just like them all.
