1995 will be the 18th consecutive year that Arrows have contested the FIA Formula One World Championship.
Arrows was founded by Jackie Oliver and Alan Rees in November 1977 after leaving the Shadows F1 team. The team made their F1 debut in 1978 at the Brazilian GP, led their second race in South Africa, scored their first points at the next race in the USA and achieved their first podium in the Swedish GP.
Since the team was founded under the name Arrows Racing Team, it has races in over 250 GP's and scored over 135 Championship points. The most successful year was 1988 with Eddie Cheever and Derek Warwick driving, and the team finished 5th overall.
In November 1989 the team was acquired by the Japanese Footwork International Corp. Last year, previous owners Oliver and Rees took over the running on the team under it's former name, Arrows Grand Prix International Limited. For 1995 they have regained ownership of the team with no further involvement from Footwork other than chassis designation.
