Looking Ahead: provisional schedule and information bits for the '96 season

Time to think about next season. The information that follows is, first, the provisional schedule for the 1996 season. After, I list new drivers and technologies for some teams. Don't forget that not all driver transfers are finished! Lets take a look at what some current plans are!

The News From The Teams
(as of 27 September, 1995)

Tyrrell
Ukyo Katayama will lose his main sponsor, Mild Seven. He will not be returning to the team for next season. Johnny Herbert was recently seen in Tyrrell base in Ockham.
Sauber
Sauber also has eye on Herbert for next season. Frentzen will stay with this team. Karl Wendlinger is also candidate for a seat, and he will test car in late Autumn. Things staying the same for Sauber for next season: main sponsor Red Bull and engine provider Ford (only Sauber will use the new V10).
Williams
This team have a big test program. The new FW17C was tested by Alain Menu (BTCC) and Will Hoy (BTCC).
Jordan
Fabrizio de Simone (F3000, son of director of Uliveto, Jordan's sponsor) will test car soon.
Liger
Ligier is still looking for drivers. Rickard Rydell (BTCC), Jeremy Dufour (F3), Vincenzo Sospiri (F3000), Riccardo Rosset (F3000) and Tarso Marques will test the car soon. Ligier announced that they will use Mugen engines to '97. Tabacco concern SEITO (Gauloises Blondes) will sponsor team to '97, so Gitanes is out. Also, Loto won't be on the car for next season.
DAMS
The new car will be ready in a second half of October. Eric Comas has a big chance to be their driver for '96.
DOME
Japanese team will join F1 in '97. This team has been involved in Japanese F3000 since 1986. They will announce F105 in March 1996 and test it throughout the year. The engine will be Mugen. The main designer is Akiyoshi Oku. Team manager is Tadashi Sasaki (formerly with Minardi). The main sponsors are: Wacaol (women's wearing), Try (private schools) and VIP (computers).
